Coatings Inspector Program Level 2

This certification is designed for Level 2 Coating Inspectors responsible for performing and documenting non-destructive / destructive inspections of liquid and non-liquid coatings to any substrate in a shop setting (e.g. workshop, factory, or plant) or under the supervision of a level 3 inspector when working in a field setting (e.g. production facilities, plants, or oil fields).

NOTE: NACE highly recommends that candidates complete Coatings Inspector Program Level 1 before attempting the level 2 certification.

Prerequisites
Active CIP Level 1 Certification
Work Experience

2 years verifiable coatings related work experience.

Certification candidates must apply for this certification by submitting an on-line application which is subject to approval.


Certification candidates have four (4) years to complete all requirements, including a successful completion of the exam, and an approved application with the required work experience and education requirements.

To begin the certification process:

Submit the CIP Level 2 Application

Upon successful completion of requirements, the candidate will be awarded a NACE Coating Inspector Level 2

Certification renewal requirements

  • An approved Recertification application is required every 3 years
  • 1.5 year’s work experience
  • Renewal Fee
